Compliance Lawyer
About the role
We are seeking an experienced In-House Compliance Lawyer to lead legal and regulatory strategy across our data-driven intelligence platform. This role is critical in ensuring Alpha operates within global legal frameworks while maintaining the agility needed to support growth and innovation.
You will own compliance across data protection, advertising regulations, cross-border data flows, and commercial contracts, while acting as a strategic advisor to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
Ensure full compliance with global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy, and other regional frameworks)
Interpret and operationalize regulations related to location data, device identifiers, and programmatic advertising
Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, controls, and audit processes
Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adapt company practices
Product & Data Advisory
Work closely with engineering and product teams to embed privacy-by-design into Alpha’s platform
Advise on lawful data collection, processing, enrichment, and activation strategies
Assess risk in identity resolution, geolocation tracking, and audience profiling features
Commercial & Client-Facing Legal
Draft, review, and negotiate: Data processing agreements (DPAs), Data licensing agreements, Enterprise client contracts
Support enterprise sales by addressing client compliance and legal concerns
Act as a key point of contact for high-value or compliance-sensitive clients
Risk Management
Conduct legal risk assessments for new products, features, and markets
Handle regulatory inquiries and potential investigations
Establish frameworks for data governance and incident response
Cross-Border & Strategic Guidance
Advise on international data transfer mechanisms and jurisdictional risks
Support expansion into new markets with tailored compliance strategies
Collaborate with external counsel when necessary
Requirements
Experience
3+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)
Strong background in data protection, privacy law, or ad-tech compliance
Experience with GDPR and global privacy frameworks is essential
Skills
Deep understanding of data ecosystems, identifiers, and tracking technologies
Ability to translate complex legal frameworks into actionable business guidance
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Qualifications
Law degree (LLB / JD or equivalent)
Qualified to practice in a relevant jurisdiction (EU preferred)
Nice-to-haves
Experience working with compliance-heavy products or regulated industries
Familiarity with API products or developer platforms
Interest in financial services infrastructure or fintech partnerships
